Date night called for something new, preferably a place with great drinks. After reading a couple posts online about this new place, we decided to give it a try. The decor and ambiance are neat and classy, nothing too festive, much more reminiscent of a restaurant you’d find in La Condesa in Mexico City than the archetypal Mexican restaurant you’d find in small town Virginia. The carne asada entree, perfectly marinated and seared, is honestly the best I have had outside of my Tio’s backyard barbecues. The rice and beans, while outstanding, are not the only side offered. They also offered classic Mexican selections that aren’t as stereotypical, such as layered cheesy poblano potatoes and jalapeños toreados. The drinks were amazing and I tried a few on the list. My favorite was the Cantarito, and I LOVE that they served tequila La Gritona. Mancha Cocina Mexicana is a place you absolutely cannot miss. Video on IG: Mancha Cocina Mexicana
